Join us for the chance to play at The Hub, Silicon Valley's premier indoor pickleball club, and an opportunity to play with your local first responders!
Tickets:
- Player pass (for recreational play): $60
- Pickleball 101 (player pass + clinic): $80
- Spectators: Free ($50 donation suggested)
NEW THIS YEAR:
- Short instructional clinic in addition to recreational play for guests.
- Santa Clara Firefighters BBQ: Fuel up your pickleball game with home-cooked BBQ from members of the Santa Clara Firefighters. BBQ will be open to playing and non-playing guests as well as the general public - so spread the word!
Battle of the Shields: Firefighters and law enforcement officers will again compete in the Battle of the Shields. They are some of the best amateur pickleball players in the area! (Note: Battle of the Shields tournament only open to firefighters and law enforcement officers and requires separate registration. Tournament player registration can be accessed here.)
Event schedule:
- 12:30 pm: Clinic check-in opens (optional - advance registration required; space is limited)
- 1:00 pm: Clinic begins
Battle of the Shields check-in & warm-ups - 1:30 pm: Clinic Ends
Welcome & Battle of the Shields tournament begins - 1:30 - 3:30 pm: Open recreational play
Battle of the Shields tournament rounds - 3:30 pm: Raffle drawing
- 4:00 pm: Recreational play ends
Semi-final and final rounds of Battle of the Shields - 5:00 pm: Event end

How your support impacts Walden West campers:
- Tuition assistance - to provide reduced tuition to deserving students from Title 1 schools
- Garden - new plants, supplies, infrastructure to grow the garden program
- Projects - new bird blind coming in Spring of 2025; climbing wall refurbishing; planned upgrade of astronomy shed

Walden West Outdoor School
Hiking, camp songs, garden time, and lots of fun!
On Saturday, October 12, Walden West hosted 150 community members as well as volunteers, staff, and Walden West board members for a morning of songs, hiking, food, and fun.
Families came from around the Peninsula and South Bay, just as our campers do. Many were coming to see Walden West for the first time, to get a glimpse of what awaits at science camp. Others, came back after many years away to feel the magic of Walden West once again.
Special thanks to Acorn, Lobster, Jellyfish, Yarrow, and Phoenix Feather for sharing their knowledge, positive energy, and musical talents with our guests. The Foundation board also got in on the action, showing their Walden West spirit as the back-up musicians at our closing circle.
Lastly, thanks to everyone's participation, we raised $4,500 for tuition assistance and additional funding for all Walden West campers! If you didn’t have a chance to contribute you can still make a donation here. Gifts at any level are much appreciated!
